Prepping your headlights or tail lights

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Most modern automobiles and motorcycles use polycarbonate lenses for their headlights and tail lights.  This plastic is very sensitive to a variety of chemicals. Contact with certain chemicals can cause crazing, softening, or cracking of the lens, which would require replacement of the entire lamp housing.  That is definitely a bad thing.  So please be aware of this and avoid the following chemicals in cleaning or prepping your lenses before applying Lamin-x.

DO NOT USE ANY OF THESE CHEMICALS TO CLEAN YOUR LENSES!!!

Acetone

E-Gift Certificate

Your birthday is coming up and you try to explain to your wife that you want to make your Mazda look cooler than Vanilla Ice’s 1989 Mustang 5.0 (not that it doesn’t already).  You tell her that some Lamin-x Headlight Covers in tint, and yellow Fog Covers will do the job perfectly.  But her, not being the car type, says “you want what and what for what?”  Fearing the worst (instead receiving bright yellow rimmed sunglasses), you just say;  “This will make me love you more than ever, go to www.lamin-x.com and get me a $50 gift certifcate.”   The world is now complete…amen

Lamin-x TDI Cup car

Lamin-x TDI Cup car

We are going racing! Well, sort of.  Lamin-x now has a sponsor partnership with the VW TDI Cup pro racing series.  Lamin-x was impressed with Volkswagen providing super-clean, professionally prepared TDI Jettas in a close, green racing series. Lamin-x found that their protective film products will be a perfect match to compliment the TDI Cup cars. Lamin-x clear and colored protective films give the racecars a high impact, visual appeal yet protects their headlights, paint, and windshields from racing abuse. Pick your favorite looking VW TDI Cup car for the 2009 and 2010 season! Of course, we expect to be the Lamin-x TDI Cup car!
