Lamin-x Racing at Oktoberfest

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009
Every year BMW Club of America puts on a big BMW fest and calls it Oktoberfest.  During this big fest you’d expect a lot of beer, but instead they have Club Racing, Track Days, Concours show, Rally, and bunch of other stuff.   Luckily for Lamin-x O’fest was at Road Atlanta this year.  Which is only an hour and a half away.   So, of course, we had to be a part of the Club Racing.

We had pro racecar driver Seth Thomas test the car out on Thursday.  Then analyze the car and driving data using www.traqmate.com  Which is an awesome and necessary tool to help racers improve their skills.  With Seth’s information and assistance, we were able to shave off 1.5 seconds from our previous best time.   We had a great battle on Fridays race and video to show!  We ended up second in class and 7th place overall (out of 34 cars).  Our apologies for the wobbly camera in the video.

Racing is a great place for Lamin-x to test and demonstrate our products.  Relieving a little stress is a nice little tidbit too.  www.bimmerworld.com proudly provided a hogfest and beer for the racers and workers, so Oktoberfest was properly celebrated.  Thanks Bimmerworld.

www.ColourTechSouth.com was there all weekend to take pictures.  Here are a bunch of the Lamin-x car in action:
